Landon comes to spend the night!

While Shaws were here visiting in February, I convinced Jenn to let Landon spend the night at our house. It was so fun and we got to spoil him. Jenn, her boys and mom came to visit for the day when I asked Jenn just to leave Landon with us. She didn't have any p.j.'s or anything for him, so Landon and me went shopping. We went to Walmart and I let him pick out some "Cars" p.j.'s. I even let him jump on the bed for a while before bed.

Then we went to the toy section to let him pick out a train he could play with while he was visiting us. We had a lot of fun with the train set, and then Landon took it to bed with him.

On our way home, we got McDonald's for dinner and Landon told me exactly what he wanted, "Chicken nuggets, apples and Hi-C." I was very impressed, he didn't even want any of my french-fries. We took dinner home so we could eat with Mark.

After dinner, Landon was exhausted as you can see above. So we let him play in the tub for a while and then we watched a movie. Then I read "Bambi Grows Up" to him and he slept in our guest room in a "BIG bed!" He slept until 4:00am and then we watched movies and played with his train until 7:00. He went back to bed until 8:00. When he woke up, Mark had already left for work so he kept asking me "Where's Mark?" We hurried to get ready for the day and then we drove to mom & dad's house. We then found out that Conner had been sick all night, so I stayed the rest of the day to help out. It was so much fun playing Auntie and Uncle. I guess we got a little taste of parenthood. ;)

When Jim and I were first married (20 years ago) we did the same thing with Steven. He was about 3 years old I think and we had him over and I think he even spent the night. It was good practice. Now that I think about it, it was probably when Spencer was born.
