Happy Independence Day!

On Friday, July 4, 2008, Mark & I went and picked up Chelsea, Steven and Aaron (Chelsea's boyfriend) at Chelsea's apartment around 8:00am. We drove down to I.F. and met our whole family at the parade. Even Shaws came. Landon is so energetic and fun and Conner is learning to walk. He was so cute waddling around. Landon would run out to the road and get as much candy as he could, bring it back to the blanket and go do it all over again. It was so funny!

After the parade, we went to the Iona park for a picnic. We had homemade french fries, root beer, donuts and hamburgers and salads. It was so yummy! Then we went and floated the canal. I think this year was the coldest, but the most relaxing. Someone went and cut down all the branches so we were able to just relax the whole way.

Then we hurried and got cleaned up, packed a dinner and went to the river for the Melaluca Fireworks display. We got there around seven. Jason and Dad sold home made root beer all night. Jason made this 200 gallon jug (Below) to sell it in. He sold a lot, but in the end we dumped a lot of it down the gutter.

Dumping the root beer! :(

The fireworks were beautiful and so fun. Landon was running around like crazy saying "Look, Look!" (Below) It was so funny. All day he would say, "Where's the fireworks? Let's go see 'em." He loves the fireworks and the loud noise they make. He says, "Boom Boom, it's to loud!" I love having my nephews here. I got to hold Conner during the fireworks. He kept saying "Mmmmm." It was so funny. Not Wow or Ahh or anything. Just Mmmmm! LOL

What a fun day!

I'm glad you posted pics of Jason's root beer jug because I really wanted to see it, but we didn't make it to that side of the river. And that's too bad you had to dump so much of it out--doesn't that sound so yummy and refreshing right now? So does everything we had at our BBQ at the square! It was good to see you. You looked so cute! And the pictures your family took down Hatches' lane (I saw them on Shaws' blog) are so cute. There are some great ones of you!
