We Hit a DEER!

This is the deer we hit! Just kidding, but he was at least this big!

Okay, so here is the story.
On Friday night we were driving to Utah on our way to Arizona for Thanksgiving. I HATE the Malad pass, and I had been driving. I kept telling myself that no matter how much I hated it, I was going to drive all the way to Kaysville. Something kept telling me to switch with Mark. Finally, I said "Mark will you switch with me." So we switched and Steven (Mark's brother) got up front and I sat in the back. Steven had been on his lap top, and right before the Malad Pass, his lap top battery died. When we got to the summit, not even 5 minutes later, Steven said "Mark, theres a deer!" Ther was a car on our right in the other lane and the HUGE buck was in our lane. We didn't know what to do. It was like everything went into slow motion. Mark swerved as close to the other car as he could and suddenly we heard a loud THUMP! We were going 80 mph. We thought we were going to die. And suddenly the deer was gone. It was like it just disappeared. We took the first exit we could and serveyed the damage. The only damage done was the mirror on Mark's side was destroyed. We couldn't believe it.
When we thought about, we felt that we were really blessed. If I had not switched with Mark, I know I would have hit the deer head on or flipped the car from swerving and we would have died. If Stevens lap top hadn't died, he wouldn't have seen the deer and we would have hit it. We're still not sure where the deer went, but we are sure that it is a miracle that we are still alive. Thank goodness for prayers before a trip. We were watched over that day.

Oh my gosh Nicole! I'm glad that you guys are okay. Your dad told me about this the other day and it made me sick for you guys. How scary! So other then that was it an okay trip? Did you guys make it safely to Arizona? Have you seen Twilight yet? I liked it, but I was a little disappointed. Well I hope you guys have a fun time down there.

Your parents told me about that! So scary! Crazy deer! We get them a lot out by our house and have definitely had some close calls. I'm glad you guys are ok. I wish you were going to be having Thanksgiving with us, but at least you'll be able to enjoy the warmth for a few days.

Wow, that's a heck of a story. Isn't it incredible how little miracles like that still happen?
