Our babies . . . . . . . . . . for now anyway! ;)

Just after Christmas, Jason gave us some baby turtles. They are adorable and we love playing with them. We named them Mikey (Michaelangelo) and Donney (Donatello). You know, like the ninja turtles. Ha Ha We saw a video on youtube of a guy that trained his turtle to do dog tricks, so we are attempting. When we feed them, we shake their can of food and they come flying out of the water to eat. We hold the food out for them and they eat it right out of our hands. It's so cute. They are about the size of a quarter, maybe a little bigger now. Mikey doesn't swim much and he is very small, so we have been training him to swim more. If we find that he has been lounging around for too long, we pick him up and drop him in the water and say "go swim Mikey." Lately if I just say that, he will jump into the water himself. It is so funny. It is fun to have something to play with during the day since we are stuck here all the time with work. They bring a lot of joy to us. Not as much as a child will, but for now they are fun. They can live to be 40 years old, so I wonder how long we will keep them. We got a 30 gallon tank for them and they love it. When they were in the 10 gallon they didn't swim as much. Now they are soooo active. We have a bunch of fish in the tank, just cheap goldfish, that they like to chase. It is so funny.
