So, first of all, last week I was sustained and set apart as the new Primary President in our ward! WOW! I can't believe it! I am so excited and I have the best Presidency in the world. Already we are implementing new ideas to make Primary more fun and to get half our primary reactivated. I LOVE living and working in the mission field!
On another note, we have some news about our infertility journey. I will start by saying that if anyone is offended by my bluntness about our infertility, I am sorry, but I know that by sharing there may be someone out there going through the same thing and it always helps to know we are not alone.
So, as some of you may know, Mark and I have started to see a fertility clinic in Phoenix, ARMS (Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists). They are very fast paced and have the best thoughts regarding having a family. In fact, we have wondered if some of their staff are members of the church.
Anyway, we have been working with them for a few months trying to have every test known to the fertility world done so as to find the problem causing my infertility. I say "my" because we have found that the problem lies with me. This past week, we were informed that my ovaries are acting a lot older than the rest of my body and have slowed the production of making eggs. Our doctor, Dr Barbra Faber, informed us that at this point, the only solution we may have is by trying IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). Because the problem will only get worse the older I get, she told us that we need to act fast if we are going to do this. Immediately, we made the decision to go ahead. If everything goes well, we will be attempting our first cycle of IVF by the end of July. We have already started the process, but it takes a little over a month to complete a cycle of IVF. Mark and I are very excited to be moving forward with the best solution for us. However, this is a big step and we ask that you keep us in your prayers. IVF success rates are NOT 100% and in my case are even lower rates. We have prayed about this decision and believe that it is now in God's hands. Wish us luck and hopefully, with a successful cycle, we will be pregnant within the next 4-5 months. We will try to keep everyone updated.
