Holidays! & Cakes!

Well, I know it has been forever, so I am going to try to sum up everything without boring you to death. Don't worry, there's pictures.

Well, I finished my second cake class, and this was my final. Isn't it beautiful?! It's supposed to look like a basket of flowers.

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with my family. We had a lot of fun! We ate doughnuts off a string, with no hands. I especially love Conner in this picture. He kind of looks at us weird and says this is how you do it.

For Thanksgiving, my Dad and I made this cake. My dad took the cake decorating class with me. It was a lot of fun to do with him.

All of us girls got to have a girls day, so we went to Johnny Carinos and then we went to see "New Moon." It was SOOOOO Good! If you haven't seen it, your crazy. It was totally worth going to expensive theaters.

We celebrated Christmas with my family on Dec 13, which is also my mom's birthday. Happy birthday mom! It was great! We had our traditional Seafood dinner, YUM! Then we opened presents. My parents gave us a beautiful bedspread (below).

We also celebrated my birthday and my parents gave me a beautiful picture of the Idaho Falls temple. I forgot to take a picture of it, cause it was so excited I immediately hung it up. ;)

This next picture is what I made for my grandparents for Christmas. My Grandma Andersen didn't keep her wedding bouquet, so I recreated it for her out of gum paste. (Gum paste is like fondant, but dries harder. This is something I learned in my first cake class). The whole thing is edible. Also, the little picture in the upper corner is a picture of my Grandma's hands holding her bouquet.

On December 18th, 2009 Mark graduated from BYU-Idaho. I am so proud of him. He graduated with a bachelors in Accounting.

We drove down to Arizona for Christmas with Mark's family. It has been so nice.
For my birthday, Mark got me a new swim suit and I love it. We got it off Lime Ricky. My in-laws gave me this tile with vinyl lettering. It's really pretty!

The funniest thing happened on Christmas. I had ordered a game for Mark about a month and a half ago. I was so excited to give it to him. When we got down to our last two presents, Mark said, uh-oh, I think we gave each other the same thing. So we opened them at the same time. It was the exact same game. It's called "Ticket to Ride," and there are 3 different versions and we got the same one. It was hilarious!
Mark also, started a tradition and gave me a Christmas Village piece. We want to have a big village to set up each year. He also gave me a Family Book of Mormon. I got spoiled! I gave Mark a bunch of fishing stuff and a few games. We had a great Christmas!
Mark's parents gave us a really nice rice/vegetable cooker. I can't wait to use it. I always ruin the rice.

While we have been here, we have done a lot of fun things together. Mark, Steven and me went to see "New Moon." I told it was so good it was worth going to expensive theaters. I loved it so much I went to the expensive theater again. Ha Ha
On my birthday, we made these gingerbread (grahm cracker) houses. It was a lot of fun, cause I finally know how to make a frosting that dries really stiff, so it won't fall apart. I think it turned out pretty cute!

I also made a Santa Claus cake to take to dinner at Mark's great-aunt Doris's house. It turned out cute, but I have a lot to learn.

All in all, it has been a great few months. We have loved spending so much time with family. We hope you all had a great Christmas!

Wow! Nicole! Grandma's bouquet is so beautiful! I can't believe how well that turned out. I want to see it -what would you say, live? Way to go! That's funny you and Mark got the same game for each other. Dave's parents got each other camel backs for hiking. That was pretty funny. And Dave's mom labeled one of my presents as being for my sister in law. It was something I asked for so when she opened it we were both kind of confused. It was pretty funny!
Tell Mark congratulations on graduating! That's great. We'll want to hear what you plan to do next.

Take care!
